Default Cart won’t shut off

I have a 2004 clubcar ds model with a 290 engine. The problem I am experiencing with it is that it won’t shut off even when the ignition is placed on off. The rev limiter has been bypassed. The only way I get it to cut off is by removing the park plug cap. When I do that and put it back to in position and press pedal it starts up but then again won’t shut off. Now the other problem I have just encountered is that it won’t turn over. Engine spins but now won’t turn over. Do you think I have a faulty ignition. Coil.

Theres a wire next to the dipstick tube, should be black/white. If it is unplugged the cart wont shut off. Other possibility is the microswitch that sends ground through to that wire is bad.

Grounding that wire will kill spark and shut the engine off. That's really the only thing that shuts the engine off. It's a wood chipper engine really, so meant to run completely independently by itself. It doesn't need the battery, or anything else really except to get it started.

Doubtful. If I read it right, pulling the plug wire wouldnt shut it off if the solenoid was stuck.

Does anyone know where the black and white wire next to the dip stick goes? I assume one end is in the rev limiter and the other end?

One end passes through the rev limiter and goes to the ignition coil.

The other end goes to the pedal microswitch.

See wiring diagram in sticky section:)
