1996 Club Car carry-all won't go into low gear on hills
Just got 96 club car from my father in law. So far have replaced the clutch belt, spark plug, fuel pump and cleaned the carb. Plenty of speed on flat ground but is not very responsive on initial acceleration and won't make it up hills. Rpms go way down until it stops and humms.

Put your cart in maintenance mode and run up the motor. Your clutches should do what the clutches do in this video. The belt should rise up in the drive clutch (front clutch) and sink down into the driven clutch (rear clutch):

Either have the wrong belt or the drive clutch is worn out and needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
