1993 Club Car spins but won't start

Have you removed the RPM limiter? If you put in an OEM coil for a 97 or newer, it's kind of a stand alone unit. Make sure the old ignitor and RPM limiter are disconnected. With them out of the way the coil will generate and spark the plug untill somethinggrounds out that spark. There is the ignition key switch and the "kill" microswitch in the black control box. For test purposes unplug the bullet connector to the white/black tracer wire by the dipstick tube. That eliminates the microswitch and key switch. In theory it should then keep running till it runs out of gas. If it still dies you've narrowed it down to either a bad "new coil" or the grounding/kill wire worn or pinched in its routing through the cooling fins - rare, but it's happened.

Rpm limited and igniter were removed previous to me owning it.

We let it cool down and it ran again.

We dug into the black box and found a wire nearly broken off in the accelerator starter limit switch. We fixed it.

I ran it longer than its run before at home before loading it up and taking it this weekend.

So far it’s still running.

I’m not calling it a win unless it goes all weekend without an issue.

I’ll report back.
