Default '88 DS with a seized engine. Options

I just picked up my first cart - a 1988 DS with a seized engine. The cart is all there and relatively clean and was only $200 so I can spend some money before it gets outta hand.

I've ordered a 4" Jakes A-Arm lift kit and Jake's disc brake kit. I should probably have them in a month or so.

As far as the motor - I think I'm going to put in a Vanguard V-twin using both Vegas and Cart Parts Plus parts.

-Vanguard 18hp engine
-Vegas engine mount, throttle cable and other install components
-Comet 780
-New secondary clutch
-Cart parts plus header with a piece of flexible exhaust tubing into the stock muffler (this will be a neighborhood cart and I'm trying to limit the noise).

I'm guessing I will just add a new key switch and wire directly to the briggs motor.

I will post some pictures as the project moves along. If I'm missing anything, let me know. Thoughts?

There are always guys in here wanting to buy those motors and parts that go with it.

Where are you?

Hey! I resemble that comment!

I don't need anything at the moment, actually getting ready to do that clone swap on my '90 Club Car this winter. Like the original poster, I plan to use the stock muffler to try and keep the noise down.
