EZ GO Gas---BELT HELP
I have a 1995 EZ Go Gas Cart. It has a 300cc high out put engine. It has two belts. One that is a wide belt that goes around the Drive Clutch and Driven clutch. The second is a skinnier belt. The smaller belt has come off and I do not know how to get it back on. does anyone have any idea how to do this. Please remember in your replies that I am mechanically stupid.

Re: EZ GO Gas---BELT HELP
You are referring to the starter belt. The starter has a long bolt that runs through the bottom mounts. You'll need a 3/4" socket and wrench to loosen. Once this is loose, then on the drivers side there is a bracket / stud with two 9/16" jam nuts that force the starter out to tighten the belt. You neen to loosen these to allow slack to get it on, then tighten it up. This is pretty basic stuff here. Maybe you should have someone help you if this doesn't make sense? No offense intended
BTW - Make sure the KEY IS OFF and / or the positive terminal is removed from your battery. We'd hate for you to loose a finger here... |

Re: EZ GO Gas---BELT HELP
belt was knocked off by a big stick that was on road and got lodged in there.
i am using it in the woods and the area has just been clear cut so there are alot of small loose limbs on road. |

Re: EZ GO Gas---BELT HELP
It will be much easier to get at the stuff mike was telling you about if you take the airbox and carb off

Re: EZ GO Gas---BELT HELP
Well i got the belt back on, but now it is not working. Someone told me i need to adjust the tensioner to make the belt tighter around the spindels. I believe i may have drained the battery because now it does not do anything.
Back to drawing board. |

Re: EZ GO Gas---BELT HELP
You're going to need someone who has a little more mechanical
inclination to help you.. My advise is don't do anything to it. |
