06 ST Sport 2+2 Steering Wanders
I've had this cart for about 6 weeks. It had a bent right rear axle, so I got that replaced. I put new 12" wheels with 23" tires and also installed the front end shim kit from Mike's Motor toys. The doesn't seem to be much play in the steering wheel, but when up to speed the cart wanders a bit. I can look down at the front tire/wheel when running and it looks like I have some bearing play, so I'm going to check for slop today and possibly tighten that up. What else would I look for?

Alignment; toe-in/toe-out; tire pressure should be same; shock absorber (right side could be weaker).
I would assume tire size is same. |

Re: 06 ST Sport 2+2 Steering Wanders
I've snugged up the axle nut a bit to have a little less play. I adjusted the toe in-out everywhere from straight to 1/4" toe in and still have the same problem. I did notice that the tie rod ends can wiggle easily without much effort when you just grab them with your hand. I made sure the tires all had the same pressure and went from 12 down to 8 lbs and didn't make much difference.
When I say it wanders a bit, it acts like the whole front end just moves over without moving the steering wheel. Any help would be appreciated. |

Re: 06 ST Sport 2+2 Steering Wanders
I've determined that the tie rods are worn and have ordered replacements. I compared the play in them to the other cart I have and it is night and day. Hopefully that will fix the problem. thanks for your help.

Did it fix the wandering? I am having the same issue.

Never completely got rid of the wandering that was inherent in the steering setup. I eventually sold the cart. Replaced the steering box and tie rod ends helped a lot though, but not enough for the money I spent doing it in my opinion.
