Default g-16 carb question

Hey guys, I am a new kid on the block when it comes to carts. I just got a 1998 g-16 and it bogs down when you first take off, to the point of feathering the pedal to get it to go. What kind of adjustment can I do to the carb to remedy this? Any suggestions are appreciated.

I bought a 97 G-16 last summer and it sounds like mine ran exactly the same as yours does now. I found that in my case, the clutches were shifting/staying in high gear due to worn rollers in the primary clutch. I have some pretty steep hills to negotiate and members here suggested a torque spring. I opted to install a torque spring from CPP. Also, I replaced the rollers in the primary clutch. My cart now runs really good with no more bogging. I was able to negotiate my hills with a load of 5 adults. In your case, I would start with the following steps:
1. Make sure the clutches are greased (2 pumps each) and articulating properly (watch em while running in neutral)
2. Service the air cleaner (make sure cover is properly in place and latched down - carts are fussy about this).

If these items check out with no change in operation then -
3. Clean carb. and check the flange gaskets & spacer for cracks.

Try these things, study the stickies and site, then report results back here.

I really think that improper clutch operation is your main problem, but just a guess. Hope this helps - RAY

I forgot to mention that you should check your drive belt for excessive wear. I think 1" wide at the top is wear limit. RAY
