My 2004 TXT Shopping List

Ok I need some honest help. I'm about 200% sure i'm going to be replacing everything on my to be picked up tomorrow 2004 txt. I'm paying $250 for it and as much as I know today it has no batteries, the motor they think is burned up and it only has two tires. LOL. Well anyway I started the process today of trying to setup parts for rebuilding this thing. Let me give you my idea of what i want to see when I'm done

I want an all black cart. I want a black body, front bumper guard. Top black with a black rack up top. I want a rear black flip flop seat, i want the street legal light kit. A lift though I'm not sure what size tires or the tire style but for sure a 6 inch lift. I want 48volt and a motor with some serious torque and speed. I want to drive this thing around the neighborhood and then I want to take it to deep camp.

Here is the list of all the parts I thought I would need, I just decided to look them up on diygolfcart. I'm looking for any advice you can give me. What parts have I forgotten or which ones did I pick the wrong ones and also without giving me all your insider secrets am I paying too much for certain things? Also I guess I may need some batteries? I'm guessing 8 - 6v Trojan batteries, what serial number should I be looking for and are these things I should buy around town instead of ordering online.

a 48v state of charge meter? Not sure if its needed and I haven't found one online that looks right to me.

awesome scotty, as soon as I pick up the cart I'll gladly order those items you listed from you. I've read lots of your posts and know for sure you know your stuff.

Also not sure if your saying lol i don't need batteries etc or if your saying i actually shouldn't buy all the other things like the lift kit leaf springs etc? Sorry I just don't want to make the wrong decision on what all I'm ordering.

Also I didn't even think about it, but am I going to need to do some brake job to this thing, due to me increasing the power and speed so much?

I was just pullin' your leg about the all the 'other stuff' and yes, brake upgrades are a wise decision. I have the 4 wheel kit on my big off-road gas cart and the 2 wheel set on my big electric street cart, both hydraulic & both work very good.

Does that light kit give you what you need to wire up the brake lights to the brake pedal?

Question about my 96 TXT series cart, whats the best lift height for around the neighborhood use? I would like to put a set of nicer wheels and tires on the cart but; the most off-roading i would do is going down the big hill in my back yard to haul some dirt to the garden.
