Default smoking wires

when I charge my cart, the two wires going to the batteries are smoking, what causes this??

How old is the cart? Generally this is caused by faulting or old wires. I would suggest replacing them as they probably have broken strands causing lots of loss (aka heat).

Not having any idea of what cart you have, I would suggest looking in the " stickys " for your carts wiring diagram to make sure everything is connected properly!

thanks guys, it is a parcar 48 volt, the smoke is coming from the two wires right where the charger cord plugs in, and getting very hot

you have a bad conneciton there. check and look at the wires and the connectors before you burn down your house.

Hi Guys, it seems like the recptacle on the cart is bad, having a hard time finding a new one, Can I change the recptacle over to a more modern style? As long as it is a 48 volt receptacle and plug, will it work?
