Rack Ball Joint Tightening? Split Grease Boot
Seems I may have over tightened the new rack ball joint on my 2002 TXT. I tightened it enough to pull it through the spindle arm, get the cotter pin aligned etc but it would appear I've split the rubber grease boot. This is all without driving it, etc as it's up in the air being rebuilt.
What's the guidance here? Thank you! Pat Arnold |

Re: Rack Ball Joint Tightening? Split Grease Boot
You should be able to buy a replacement boot. Just take it apart and be careful when reinstalling. You just want to tighten the castle nut and then just turn backward to line up the cotter pin. Hope this helps.
