Default Fender Flare Pics

Jerj7907,

Here's the photos as you asked.

I installed my own fender flares. Here's what I know.
- I used stainless steel nuts and bolts with nylon lock nuts. The plastic christmas trees that came with the set did not have enough holding power for me.
-I used some very thin weather stripping along the contact point with the body. No matter how tight you get it, it will still allow a little water thru that looks bad.
-It is a 2-man (or a man and woman in my case) job. It is just too difficult to hold the fender flare absolutely tight while drilling the holes. I worked on the front by myself. The back are much better with the help of my wife.
-My wheel offset may not be exactly the same (see pics. I notice that the front seems to stick out a little more that the rear. It's ok for the time being as I have other items I want to do first.

Went to the local dealer and took a bunch of photos before starting the install.

In my case it was a one man ( and several beverages ) job. I was on vacation last year and was on the fence about buying them and my wife said NO!!. Until it rained and the wheels which set out quit a bit kept slinging water on HER and then she saw things my way. I used the plugs on mine cause I was in a hurry to keep the wife dry....

I can't remember the exact name brand or vender, but these look exactly the same with the cutout for the RXV rear bumper on the fender flare.

My wife was the one who pushed me to buy them. After I took a look at the carts at the dealer with fender flares I could see the problem in your post rearing its ugly head. I immediately agreed with the wife that these were a "must of have" along with the arm rest / cup holders for the rear seat.

Couldn't talk her into the new steering wheel.

Let this be a lesson to the rest of us guys... If u want fender flares, ask your wife to go on a cart ride with you and hit some mud. Then explain that they make fender flares to stop that, then let her come up with the idea that we should buy them. We get the fender flares and she thinks she came up with the idea...

LOL, yup. Or...you order them without the wife knowing, install them, and then beg for forgiveness... Your plan is probably easier.....lol
