Default G9 backup / reverse buzzer

I put a big block in my cart and the previous owner removed the reverse buzzer. Seeing my kids drive my cart and they rarely look if it's in forward or reverse, I'd like to reinstall the reverse buzzer.

My question. Does the forward reverse switch need power to it, seeing when you flip it to reverse it activates a lever above that is connected to a electrical part. 2nd question, on the end of the electrical is a factory plug in. Can I just put the buzzer in right there or does it need a fuse?

There are also 2 buzzers for the g9...but neither have the factory white plug that comes off that reverse switch.

Thanks for your help. I'd take pics but my cart is at our place in Mexico.

One side of the reverse switch is hot all the time so it will buzz with the lever in reverse with the key OFF. No fuse is necessary. I moved my buzzer to under the seat so I could hear it better.

The buzzer is located on the inner fender next to the voltage regulator and fuses, it just plugs in. It is powered from the switch on the shifter like said. Seems like you could use any 12v buzzer, I think factory one is a piezo type buzzer it is not nice to radios it creates RF.

Thanks for the input SHO.... I'm going to just put mine right under the seat as well. I'll see what I can come up with for a buzzer.

Any 12v noisemaker should work.

What would be funny is get one of those ding-ding boxes out of an 80s car and use that lol, I think some were 12v and everyone hated those things. I ripped a few out and tossed in the trash.

if you don't mind wiping the occasional "accident" off of your seats, I say grab an automotive horn and have some fun, LOL ...

Hello guys. So I tried and tried to wire it and to no avail. I know.. it's been 3 years. But I'm busy with 4 kids. Can someone tell me which wire gets the hot lead? Also does it need to be grounded?

Any help on which wire is wired where is would be extremely helpful.

Thanks

Easiest way is plug factory one back in if still there.if not and it's cut off like your picture looks your going to have to test wires.if you are using the buzzer in the picture I would run one of the wires from the buzzer to the negative terminal on the battery and hook up the other one to the wire that has 12 V and. In reverse

Does the buzzer need to be grounded as well?
