How do i know if it has a chip in it and what chip

The "Chip" isn't really a chip. It's a jumper wire installed in a plug. The link below shows a good example.

i guess what i am asking is how do i know if there is a chip in it
it is not pluged in so is there another way to know

Put the PDS cart into diagnostic mode.
To do this simply toggle the F&R 5 times between F&R then turn the key on. The first set of beeps is the mode it is in. 1 beep is for all terrain or no chip, 2 beeps is steep hill, 3 beeps mild hill, 4 is freedom, I think.

No. Turn the cart off, run through the 5 consecutive F&R cycles and the cart will report the chip status after 2 seconds followed by any active fault codes stored in the control. To exit diagnostic mode cycle the run/tow switch
