Re: Width of dash golf ball holder
Hey KGSC, what is the width of your radio, not counting the marine cover. I was planning to add my switches to the center plate like you did. Anything to be concerned with by putting the switches in this area?
Thanks |

Re: Width of dash golf ball holder
No radio in mine, that was kab69440. I just had the steel plate that covers that hole. It fits in the recess and rests so the hole is probably just a hair smaller. A standard body din radio fits and then the trim around the face should cover the rest of the hole.

Re: Width of dash golf ball holder
Making the connections is a bee-yotch. Wrists were simply not engineered to bend that way. I dunno about the width? I'd have to go out and measure it. If memory serves, the hole was completely concealed by the trim bezel when the head unit was centered in the hole. I had to push the head unit all the way toward the keyswitch leaving the outboard side with a gap in order to get the weather cover to fit without overhanging the glove box area.
I have this bright idea when the weather gets a bit more hospitable. I want to take a Dremel to the under-cupholder area and put a small piece of piano hinge and tension hasps in. That way, I can yank the cupholder and make the entire thing swing down and yawn waaaay open. That would have been a great idea to do before some moron put all that wiring in there... |

Re: Width of dash golf ball holder
My radio is indeed 7.5" wide including the trim bezel.
