Default run/tow switch

can someone tell me which wires go where on the run to switch on a txt?

the cart I picked up didn't have a switch, instead someone tied the red/white and orange wires together and
the red/yellow and red wires tied together.

I guess I need to know which end of the switch they go to, the switch is marked on/off.
A picture would really help.

i went and took some pics of my 07 PDS controller, and this is how it is wired, when in tow, the switch points at the, red and orange wires, now, my cart does not match the wiring diagram i posted and i'm not sure why, here is another pic of a controller on a PDS cart i found in another post and it is the same as mine, it is the last pic, maybe scottyB or johnnieB or some one can answer this

That will work.
I think the J3 pin numbers on the schematic are looking at the jack and your drawing is look at the plug.

A 1996 TXT with a Run/Tow switch would be a DCS, and the plug didn't plug into the controller, it plugged into the wiring harness.
But here is a DCS schematic showing the Run/Tow switch and the wire colors and pin numbers are labeled.

-----------
Apparently the earlier PDS carts used the same Run/Tow switch as the DCS, but at some point in time EZGO must have switched to a different colored wire and didn't revise the schematic. It is the same switching arrangement (The switch connects Pin-1 to Pin-2 and Pin-3 to Pin-4), so the color of the wires isn't important. But it is a little confusing.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the confirmation on the wiring JohnnieB, I'll take your word that run/tow switch plugs into the wire harness. I've looked at the cart twice since I brought it home a few weeks ago, It's hard to work on the cart when it snows every other day, this winter is getting very loooong.
I have new 4g wires and the new run/tow switch to install, then I'll get a set of new batteries and try it out...
