Battery Life

How long does a group 26G battery usually last in a gas golf cart? I realize this depends on use... so assume the cart is only driven sparingly once per month or so. From time to time it gets hooked up to a charger to "top off".

I'm trying to play the game of not spending money unnecessarily on a new battery, but also not taking the risk of showing up in a remote area and not having a battery ready to go (where replacements will be hard to come by).

I just replaced one that was in the cart when I bought it five years ago, soon as one cranks slow or goes dead I replace it on anything.
