Talking 1999 e z go only moves when accelerator is depressed half way

Cart has been working great until just a few days ago. The cart will not move in forward or reverse until accelerator is depressed at least halfway then it lunges to full speed and lurches as it runs out. Any idea what might be wrong? Thanks.

Welcome to BGW!

What drive system do you have? (A '99 would be a series or a DCS)

Sorta sounds like the ITS sensor got wet.
It is located in a box under the floor mat and the cart does strange things when water gets into the box.

Could be other things too, but the symptoms sound throttle related.

Down load the Owner, Parts and service manuals from the siickies.
They are the three .pdf files near the top of this post: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-manuals.html

The manuals are for later model years, but EZGO didn't re-invent the wheel every year like auto maker did, so just about everything is the same.

If it is consistent, it might be a physical problem with the peddle box micro switch. If it's slightly erratic I say moisture in the ITS

Before you remove the rocker panel and pull the floor mat, you can test the ITS signal at the controller and get an idea where the problem is.
