95 Medalist S/G issue
Depending on where the S/G stops turning when you stop the cart, it may or not start the next time. I've removed the belt to get a better idea of what is going on. Part of the time when you mash the accelerator pedal the S/G does not turn. If you hold the accelerator pedal down and turn the S/G pulley the starter begins to spin. I have approximately 12.4 volts to the terminal that gets power from the solenoid. Suggestions? I think the problem is internal to the S/G. If this is so, can most starter/alternator repair shops rebuild it?

Sounds like you have a "dead spot" on the armature. Could be worn brushes or a broken wire on the armature.

Yup,start with the basics, check the brushes. If they are ok,have it tested at a starter-rebuilder.They can test the armature for you.Hope this helps.
