is this normal or do i have a problem
Just put a 5" lift kit and 22x11.00-10 tires on my 92 e-z-go marathon. Now if I pull up to a hill and come to a stop. Thin start to go up the hill from a stop it will go up about half way and stop. let off the pedal and it will roll back down the hill. But if I get a run at it it will go up it every time.
Is this normal after you lift one and put bigger tires on it? |

Yep, normal. You can easily get rid of that problem, spend more money. If batts are weak, thats priority 1. Then good cables. Then good F&R. Then good motor controller. Then upgrade motor.

Re: is this normal or do i have a problem
YES.....you added a lift and taller tires to your stock drive system. by putting the taller tires on, it has sapped some of the torque required to move your cart. And now when you try to go up the hills you sue to, you don't have as much torque available as you once had.

Re: is this normal or do i have a problem
By going from an 18" tall (stock height) tire to a 22" tall tire, you lost about 18.2% of torque available where rubber meets the road.
By going to an 8.5" wide tire to an 11' wide tire, you increased the rolling resistance, so more torque is needed to turn the tires. If the taller and wider tires are also lower pressure tires, that also increases rolling resistance. With the combination of the three, you are likely to be over 20% in lost torque. In and of itself, lifting a cart does not alter a cart's performance. |
