Re: 99 Regen 2 motor/controller upgrade
I would go IQ. You need
a motor Controller Solenoid some serious re-wiring You could probably find a used IQ motor $150 XCT400IQ control and HD solenoid $529 works good with any throttle Wire harness and misc $200 The point is you need a complete drive system and that is not going to be a cheap fix. You might just want to trade this cart in on a better drive system that would be simpler to upgrade... not that this is so hard but, it's probably not a 1st cart project. Hope this helps Conflicting opinions welcome |

Re: 99 Regen 2 motor/controller upgrade
A Regen 2 motor would work fine with an IQ system. They are essentially the same motor. He would need something different though due to the lug, so that is besides the point. He would need a controller, IQ wiring harness, an MCOR conversion kit, and a solenoid. Everything else would work fine

Why the MCOR conversion kit? Does this cart have a multistep potentiometer? Either MCOR or potentiometer will work with the controller above. |

The IQ systems were never meant to be used with the V-Glide system. The wiring for the two are completely different. One triangular three pin plug and a rectangular two pin plug on the MCOR vs one square six pin (?) plug on the V-Glide |

Re: 99 Regen 2 motor/controller upgrade
Another great idea from CC - you could put the XCT in it with the 5k-0 3wire system - If you knew how to splice it into the correct pins on a CC molex connector. Seems like you could do this with a made up adapter or ? Sounds like a Sergio puzzle

Re: 99 Regen 2 motor/controller upgrade
To convert your Regen2 to IQ you'll need the following
- Any IQ controller of your choice (Personal preference here, doesn't really matter) - Any IQ motor of your choice (Personal preference here as well) - Heavy Duty Solenoid - Factory IQ Wire harness - Plug and Play for your application. VERY easy install. - AM293101 MCOR4 conversion kit - 102026001 Pivot Rod (New style pivot rod has the barb on the end of it for the MCOR drive bar to fit over. It's cheap |
