Solenoid clicks but cart doesn't go(very intermittent issue)
I have a 99' 48V Club Car with motor and controller upgrade. The issue I have been having is that every once in while I press on the accelerator pedal and the solenoid/contactor clicks but nothing happens. The problem is the intermittency of this issue makes it very difficult to troubleshoot.
Step taken so far: Inspected all connections Replaced contactor Replaced F&R switch Disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and reassembled MCOR(pedal potentiometer Replaced Alltrax AXE controller with new Alltrax SPM controller After replacing the controller everything work fine for about a month with no issues. I went to load up the cart one morning and it would not go, I pressed the pedal approx. 100 times but got nothing but clicking. I got home later that evening pressed on the pedal one time and it took off. Talk about a aggravating problem! I am pretty much out of ideas at this point and tired of throwing money at it. Any assistance I can get would be appreciated. |

The solenoid is clicking you say, but do we really know if it is opening the circuit on the large posts every time? Seems solenoid related to me as you've described it.

The solenoid has been replaced with a new one. It is a heavy duty one.

One guy I talked with said it could be my throttle which is the potentiometer/V-drive type. I took it apart and cleaned it up but I do not know how to test it properly.

Re: Solenoid clicks but cart doesn't go(very intermittent issue)
3 things have to happen to power up the series controller and allow the motor to draw amperage.
1. solenoid has to engage and this engagement must send full power to controller B+ 2. (+) power to controller pin #1 3. correct throttle signal to controller pins 2 & 3 |

OK, I will take these readings when it is working and wait until it fails again and then take them again. It may be a week or so.
