That muffler was listed as high as $1600 about 2 years ago. It's a long story behind it.

The 94c clutch parts are still available, and a good running ribbed 94c is worth about $150 - $200 used.

Marathon I just looked on ebay and there is only one listing for a new muffler for that year and it's buy it now is $1200. There are no other mufflers listed for that year. Is it because of the 2 piece design?

It is because the company that made them for EZGO went out of business, someone did an asset purchase and decided to gouge the price on the limited number available. I think there were only 8 available at the time.

The same kind of price gouging happens with John Deere and various other companies. The driveshaft for a late 70's JD 400 garden tractor is currently listed at $900. That's for two small knuckles and a 1" steel shaft. I understand the concept of supply and demand but raising the price on something to the point where nobody will ever buy it is pretty stupid, especially when there's an alternative. I bought one from a guy who makes and sells them for $225, and he's making money doing it.

For my 87 I bought some cable from the hardware store and put ends on it. You can look at the tag on the passenger side of the center under the dash and look up the year on EZGO's web site.
