2000 FE350 voltage regulator replacement
I have a 2000 Transporter with a bad voltage regulator. The battery dies after a few uses. I tested the voltage regulator and it's not letting voltage get back to the battery. But the voltage regulators I see online don't look like mine. The one on my cart has 4 wires coming out of it - black, yellow, red and blue. The new ones only have 3 wires - red, yellow and black, but the black one has a Y in it and has 2 wires coming off it. One has a ring connector like the blue wire on the old VR on my cart.
Has anyone out there done this VR replacement? Does the split black wire just eliminate the blue wire? I would give it a go but don't want to risk frying other electronics. Thanks. |

Welcome to BGW LakeHauler!
*Edit* (I first thought you had a "Key Start" cart!) Yes... the standard VR will work, and yes, the black wire w/eyelet will replace your existing blue wire w/eyelet! |

Thanks for the info. Yes my cart is a key start. Does that change your answer?

The VR you need is a #1017238, and doesn't seem to be as readily available as the pedal start VR's! I did a fairly diligent search earlier, and it seems that you may only be able to get it through a certified Club Car dealer! |

Awesome, thanks! I don't know how you found that. I keep finding just the one style VR for my year of cart. I'll look into this one you found. Thanks! I know a guy who does cart repair so maybe he can get this one.

Re: 2000 FE350 voltage regulator replacement
I have a bunch of different Club Car manuals... and I'm a Locksmith!
You can check to see if "that guy" can get you one, but I'd strongly suggest finding an actual Club Car dealer, It seems that some repair guys will tell you... "This one will work"... but, it really won't! |

I didn't suggest David because I didn't know "how soon" LakeHauler needed it because David's on vacation for the week! |
