I have the same cart I believe, have you thought about converting to a electronic speed control and to 48v. ?

The Vglide contacts can be block sanded to a resurface them if pitting is hanging up the wiper arm. Also you may need to adjust the linkage to ensure the wiper arm goes all the way back to zero.

I am keen to convert to 48v. I haven't done much research into yet. Do you have a link or some info?

Well, buddy was having exact same problem. Went nuts trying to figure it out. Took the new solenoid out and put his old 36v one in and it worked fine!
