Fuel pump question
Should petrol run freely through the fuel pump line supply to the carb when disconnected from the carbourator? Rockinr382

When you crank the engine over you should have a pulsing flow. Without engine turning over you would have just the slightest, trickle if that. The fuel pump works on a vacuum/pressure "pulse" from the engine crankcase - so it's not a steady flow, but a kind of on-off-on-off pulse

Thanks for that reply, I changed the fuel pump as the fuel was running straight through the pump without the engine turning over, saved me from a problem that would just keep flooding the engine next time I use it.Rockinr382
