Default Re: Front suspension differences in EZGO TXT year models

I am running 12" wheels, so it should not be an issue. I am modifying a 99 TXT, so I am replacing the column. The 3 bolt column is not splined, so I have sourced a new 4 bolt column, and will modify the mounting on the firewall/cowl. I will check the spline fitment next time I get back to Florida. Thanks for the heads up!

I am installing one on my 01.5 ezgo and am having some issues.

First of all, this is a very nice front suspension. There just needs to be some improvements from the manufacturer for info and communication.

The kit comes with NO written instructions or documentation. There is an online video that is informative, but the install is on an electric cart.

The big issues I had are with the steering shaft and wheel fitment.

The steering shaft would not fit my column, looks like the splines are wrong on it, still working with my vendor on this issue. I changed the splines for the upper joint from my original steering shaft to the replacement shaft to make it work. (not perfect , but will work until figured out)

The wheel fitment issue is that the info I found says that the lift requires 10" or larger offset wheels.(pretty standard for any lift I've done) I have 10" wheels with a 3x4 offset and they contact the steering arm. After I brought this issue up with my vendor, they told me that 10" wheels will require spacers.(per manufacturer) The info on Red Hawk's site (i believe they are the manufacturer/importer) states they will fit. No mention of needing spacers.

Also, pay attention to the rear lift block install if you have a gas cart. There is no referencing to make sure the axle stays centered like the electrics. Measure and make sure it is centered before you button everything up.

My vendor sent me a new steering shaft and it fits!

Front springs are pretty stiff, rides a little stiff but not too bad. may look around for some softer ones to put on it.

Have you adjusted the coilovers to take some of the pressure off of the spring?

Haven’t looked at it too much yet. I did find some of the suspension bolts too tight. That made a big difference. Wasn’t letting the a-arms move much.
