Default Fresh rebuild, 295cc, smoking bad on one cylinder

I just finished rebuilding a 295cc. New rings, honed cylinders.

It is smoking bad on one cylinder.

Good compression on both cylinders.

Checked valve seals they are in place.

Smoke is coming out of the crankcase and pcv hose.

I've road the cart up and down the road 20 - 30 mins.

I'm just wondering if the rings haven't seated yet or if it's time to pull the motor back out.

Thanks for the input.

Sounds like you might have missed putting an oil ring in on one...

I would have some questions first.

1- how do you know its only one cylinder smoking.

2- What is the compression? the 295 should have 170 - 180 psi after rebuild
3- how bad is it smoking?

Your getting compression in the crankcase. Are you sure you put the rings on correctly?

Bad Valve seals, engine generally smokes on start up and then clears up.

Did you check the LINE BORE on the engine before rebuild? Engines regularly bell shape the cylinder, The bottom of the cylinder is larger then the top. that's the most common reason for boring the cylinder.
