Set timing on 1988 ezgo 244 cc engine
Trying to set the timing on a 244cc Robins engine compression has dropped from 140 to 80 thinking timing might be out. Cleaned carb, new spark plug, fuel reaching the carb just about starts, was running good. I changed the piston and ring last year

Re: Set timing on 1988 ezgo 244 cc engine
Timing is ignition. It has nothing to do with compression.
I doubt the rings have worn out in a year, though one could have broken. I would be more inclined to check the tightness of the head, and cylinder bolts. Did it get loud recently? |
