Default Yamaha G29 Starts but Won't Go

So I had the purple spring pop out of its retainer clip and prick the seal. Fixed that and two days later im on a golf cart ride and the cart starts slowing down. I made it home going about 5mph. Now it will start but only go about 1mph and sometimes not even that. Any idea what this could be? The belt turns but does not look like it grabs the clutch at all.

Is it actually running and revving up? Or is it just the starter/generator turning the motor over. I'm thinking its he latter. Start simple and check your fuses. May just have one thats blown.

Not running and revving up. Just turning the clutches but not going anywhere. I’ll try and post a video.

Yep it's not running, that's just the starter/generator turning the motor.

Is it fuel injected or carburetor?

First, check to make sure the main fuse is good. If the starter/generator is turning I would assume so, but best to start with the most basic.

Check the basics. Make sure it has spark, and make sure it is getting fuel. You can dribble a little gas (like a 2 liter soda bottle cap worth) in through the spark plug hole and if it fires off (it will only run for a second or two) you can confirm a fuel issue.

Dribbling a little gas in the spark plug hole is safer than ether/starting fluid. You'll need to be sorta quick, once you squirt a little gas in you need to put the plug in and try to start it within a minute or so.

Ok. Also check the vacuum pulse line going from the motor to the fuel pump. If it is clogged or has come disconnected, the carb will not get gas and obviously will not run

Ok let’s start with the basics.
Spray starting fluid or anything else like carb cleaner into the intake track after you remove the cover, then try to start it. If it doesn’t start, maybe it’s a spark issue, but if it does start then it’s a fuel issue. Mine does that at times and it’s a fuel issue.

Ok, I found my problem. Where the throttle cable fits into the pedal assembly, the assemble is broke creating slack in the throttle cable. Is there anywhere to purchase a new pedal assembly for less than 300? Pics to follow.
