Default Need help with swapping brake backing plates please

When swapping rear brakes for lift on TXT are you still going to use the bracket that holds the cable with the "C" clip? Because its real close to where the pin goes thru and I'm getting a little frustrated trying to figure it out. Running out of daylight and would like to get this finished. Thank you!

Lifted more than a few TXT's and never had to flip the backing plates, some workhorses yes. Does your cables come out at the bottom or top?

The backing plate swap is side to side and invert. Before you start removing them be sure the cables will be long enough

Well, I probably have to call Allsports Monday. I had ordered Gas but they sent me an electric kit. I called them and they said we'll just send you different U bolts for the gas.

I looked at their instruction page and they sent me the square U-bolts for the gas but the instructions are showing the round ones? The kit also did not include any shackles?

If that shock plate is welded on the bottom of the axle you need the square U bolts, they go in from the top.. or you could use bolts.

The shock plate wraps around and up the front of axle and sits on a pin. Then there is just a square plate on the bottom

yep, the square U bolts go in from the top.. or you could use bolts which it looks like you did.

The round U bolts were used on the earlier txts in place of the aluminum iso-mounts, they didn't have the plate welded on the axle.

Well finally got it done and other than a lot of vibration in the steering and the rear higher, I'm glad it's over! Thanks for all the help!
