Default Woodruff Key

Has anyone ever figured out the exact size woodruff key needed for the input shaft/secondary clutch?

Mine sheared today. Guessing I didn't get the clutch tightened enough when I switched my clutches out last month. So I need a new one. I know I can order them easily, but that will take several days. I'd like to get one locally.

When mine broke I ordered a genuine Yamaha unit from Partzilla. Part # 90280-05022-00. I did not want to take a chance with anything but a perfect fit on the G-14's not easy to find input shaft

The battery is dead on my caliper. 5/8 x 3/16 x 1/4 deep using a tape.

Sorry. 9/16...

Keep in mind woodruff keys come in metric sizes as well....Yamaha = metric.

I went to 3 of the local parts retailers, they have them in 1/4" but no metric sizes. One place did have a large assortment pack, but it wasn't able to be opened to check.

So, I googled it up and ordered a 10 pack for like $12. It was $7 for one or $9.99 for three So, 10 it is Anyone need one?

I feel lucky, on my G9 it stays in the shaft. I have to grab it with vicegrips and twist it out to get my secondary back on. Then I can tap it in and it will hold the secondary on with a stock spring.
