I got my crank installed without tools. I heated up the case and bearings, froze the crank, oiled it up with some PB Blaster. Slipped together with a rubber mallet and a block of wood. I know that's not the way it's "supposed" to be done, but it worked. An old school mechanic gave me that idea.

Add a chunk of thick metal I had laying around with a big hole in it for a pull plate, another nut and washer, and a 7” piece of 2” PVC. Works like a champ! The trick was getting a coupling big enough that I could use the original crank nut and get a socket into it to snug the nut. All this had to fit into a two inch tube. Interesting dilemma, but perseverance pays....lol |
