Quits when removing booster cables
1995 g5 Yamaha only starts if booster cables are attached but quits immediately after removing the booster cables

Have you had the battery out of it recently for any reason ? Do you have a volt ohm meter ? Is the battery stone dead ? It should continue to run on the battery or the generator without the cables. Unless the generator isn't producing power or the regulator has died. Read the voltage on the battery and see what you have.
