Default Throttle Cable / Accelerator - Pedal Hook Up

Ok... seems like a really dumb question.

The throttle cable broke on my G9 at the pedal. I bought a new cable, but the "barrel" at the end, isn't easily fitting into the pedal. I can't figure out if I just need to file down the ball a bit to fit into the pedal, if I have the wrong cable, or if there is a trick I don't know about. Any help would be awesome!

I included a picture showing the specific area I am referring too. I often use incorrect names of different parts just being ignorant.

My expectation was that the "barrel" would slide easily into that slot and rest on the groove without a problem. I recall that it slid out really easily when I removed the broken cable, but not sure if that was because it was broken.

I promise that I spend about 20 minutes trying to find out the answers first on this site, Google, and YouTube before I post here. I also reviewed the manual with no luck.

Not sure if cable is OEM and sized right, if it was mine I would drill the hole out a little. Maybe use a bit that just fits and wobble it around.

I'll agree with DOOmsman. Almost certainly an aftermarket part and the cable end just isn't quite to O.E. tolerance. Open up the pedal hole CAREFULLY. Probably won't take much.
