Yamaha Controller
Hello. I have a controller from a G19 Yamaha cart that I'd like to replace the part in the attached picture. I think it is a diode. I've looked around without finding one that will work on there for sure. Does anyone have a lead as to where I might find one?
Thanks |

Re: Yamaha Controller
Try mouser. Put in the number off the chip.

Re: Yamaha Controller
I would try Digikey, Newark, Mouser, etc. Search there for the part number.

Re: Yamaha Controller
Thanks for the leads. I looked on their sites and nothing matched up so I sent them an email and we'll see what happens.

Re: Yamaha Controller
STMicroelectronics STP50NE08
MOSFET N-CH 80V 50A TO220AB Digikey has it listed but I don't think you can buy one from them. It's not a diode. It's a power MOSFET. By the way, Google is your friend. :-) |

Re: Yamaha Controller
@Volt_Ampere is right. The part is actually obsolete. You can use this as a suggested substitute:
STP75NF75 75VDC 80A Downside is that both Mouser and Digikey are out of stock. Be careful of eBay and Ali Express parts. Likely to get remarked parts from those places. |

Re: Yamaha Controller
Also, it is very likely that more components have been damaged by that failure.

Re: Yamaha Controller
Thanks guys. I wasn't getting the complete part number on the google search. I now have one on order. I was able to cross reference to another brand that has the same specifications. I'm certainly not an electronics expert but can manage to do a few things. If the controller doesn't work after installing it, I'm not out much.
Is there anyone who can test and service these things or is it a component that just has to be replaced when defective? They're certainly not cheap. Rod. |

Re: Yamaha Controller
Not sure what model controller you are dealing with but many like the later ones used on Yamaha are not repairable. They are potted. My Alltrax controllers are potted as well. Some controllers can be repaired but I don't know which ones fall into that category.
