Default cutting out problem

Just started yesterday, went riding for a while and it started surging some, got a little worse as it went. When I got it home it would barely run at full throttle. It sit for about 10 minutes and I tried it, it still had a pawer loss but not as bad, made it one block down the rd and it was cutting out again. I looked everything over on it and could not find a problem. I went to put it about 2 hours later and it had full power back but was still cutting out. It has a new plug, new fuel filter, new air filter, new fuel lines and has been running great, burned 3 tanks of gas through it in the last couple weeks. Any suggestions?

I had this same problem if this is a G-1 check the bolts that hold the coil on the shroud and the wire that connects to it.

Loose and corroded connections and chafed wires are common problems on these old buggies. Check out your wiring. Check the exhaust valve ( butterfly in the exhaust pipe just outside the cylinder head) to be sure it hasn't flopped shut and is restricting the exhaust.

Rode it yesterday, I wired the valve on the muffler open and we rode for about 15 minutes including several full throttle go's and never had a problem. Hoping that is the cure. I have replaced all of the ends and several of the wires so I'm hoping it's not that. The airbox does leak some since the rubber latches are gone, but it's never acted up before.
