96 club car will not go
I have a 96 club car 48v. We have replaced the batteries and cables. I plugged the charger in and the charger is working fine. I let the cart charge overnight. Checked on it in the morning and the cart will not move. I hear a click coming from the back and it moves a little but then stops. What the heck could it be?

Re: 96 club car will not go
did the cart run before you put batts in and cables? if so go over everything you did its really quite easy to make a mistake and we see it here all the time..........................are you sure you put the red 10 gage wire back on the #1 battery pos. post? double check thats the rear batt. pass side if you didn,t your not charging the whole pack and with new batteries thats enough...............so check that and go over all your work.....by the way welcome................................

Re: 96 club car will not go
sounds like U may either have a battery reversed, or a cable that not tight , or wired incorrect .

Re: 96 club car will not go
I think carts that try to go and quit almost immediately .... have a blown controller? I would check the controller out put between terminal M-and B+ while pushing the gas peddle, with the cart on jack-stands of course. The voltage should increase as the peddle is depressed or the controller is suspect.

Re: 96 club car will not go
KAMRONKAYE Does your cart have a #1 F&R lever or #2 F&R rocker type switch and are you hearing click coming from #3 main solenoid or is it the #4 second solenoid with a resistor coil?
If its main solenoid thats clicking you might want test it for bad internal contacting. It can click but not make good connection. Also I find on older CC 1994-1999 that when changing batterys or removing cables for cleaning etc that for some unknown reason I need to rest OBC to get cart back in operation? Seems worse with original OBC's? |

Re: 96 club car will not go
scottyb i agree with your controller response.....i to see a lot of the carts will just try and move a little ......i,m not sure if this cart was running or not before they installed new batts and i,m just assuming it was thats why i wouldn,t think controller ............but i do agree with you.....................
