Only have 3 charge cycles on it, but I like it so far.
The DPI is a great charger and that is exactly what I would get if I wasn't dead set on an on board. I'll report back on the Quick Charge after I see how it performs.

I like the idea of an on-board charger also, but I realize that most of the time I do not need it to be on-board. The new one is small enough to fit under the drivers butt, so if I need to transport it a long distance I can put it there. then have it to charge at my destination.

I've had the 36V version a bit over a month and love it.

Does the 48V version have a float charge or does it go into a monitor mode and initiate a charge when the battery voltage drops too low?

I believe the 36v and 48v are the same. But I honestly don't know the answer to that.

It has the float charge! Floats my 48v pack at 52.7v!

I had a ProTech as an on-board, but hardly ever used it until I decided to play some games with my PW-II.
After being bounced around in the cart for a while, it only lasted about a week with daily use.

Being an old school type, I decided if it didn't have a transformer, I didn't want to mess with it.

The DPI has a transformer and uses SCRs to control the constant current and constant voltage phases, so it appears to be the best of old and new combined.
(More correctly, it has current limited and voltage limited phases, but that's a technicality.)

I still want to have on-board charger so I can "Refuel" away from home, so the Quick Charge might be what I'm looking for.

JohnnieB, did you ever decide on a on-board charger? I am starting to look into it and need a water resistants / bumpy road worthy one.

Thanks!

No, instead I decided to get more range by going to 245AH batteries and using the space in front of the driver side wheel well for a seventh battery.

I like the concept of having an on-board charger, but a stand-alone charger is better suited to my needs, so I use the DPI Accusense.
