Uneven rear carry height 2008
My 2008 Drive has always set about 3/4 to 1 inch lower on the left rear. Looks ugly. The dealer has not been helpfull - so I am on my own to fix it or forget! Has any one had/fix this concern?

Re: Uneven rear carry height 2008
I had an Ezgo one time that did this very thing. Drove me crazy and to beat everything it ended up being a front shock that was causing the problem. Hope this helps. I'm sure you've checked the normal shocks, frame, etc... If you still can't figure anything out, get us a pic and maybe we can see something you don't. Get good one of the back and then some detail of underneath and some of the front as well.

Re: Uneven rear carry height 2008
Thanks for your interest. After more measuring, the problem is not limited to the left rear - actually, the entire left side is about 1/2 inch lower than the right side. Measuring from the ground to the bottom of the box metal frame assembly rails (the rails are welded to the frame structure - like a car frame).
The front to rear carrying height is the same. Just leaning to the left - not front to rear. This model has 'U' shaped tubular rear arm structure that the rear axle is attached. This arm is a major piece of the rear suspension and not welded to the box frame. The height of both the right and left side is similar. Rotating the tires and wheels did not effect the carrying heght. Any suggestions? |

Re: Uneven rear carry height 2008
I have a 2009 G29 that's doing the same thing. I have a Jakes 6" kit on it, but it was leaning before I put the kit on. I have since put heavy coils on the rear shocks to handle the load from the rear seat. No change. So I switched the rear shocks side to side about a week ago, no change. I'm beginning to agree with Spriddle, I think it might be the front strut. I might be doing the long travel thing in the spring, so it might not be a issue any longer. If not, i'll put new struts on to see if that fixes it.

Thanks for the information. I have done the rear shock thing - larger shock spring on the left rear. My results were the same as yours - zip!

Also thought about raising the right rear top shock mount about 1/2". Looks like there is plenty of room.

Re: Uneven rear carry height 2008
i am also interested, mine is leaning too, new HD rear shocks. I made my own lift kit and everything measures right. I have 2 new front shocks on the way to see if this fixes it. Mine is a G9. Will update what I find out when they arrive.
