Re: trouble shooting lights
To be 100% accurate (and safe) the supply wire should be on one side of the block and all the load wires should be on the other side. This keeps the fuses inline and doing their job.

Re: trouble shooting lights
Thanks Yurtle!! Which one of these did you get? 6 or 12? Do I need one with or without the ground bus?
Thanks for the input and help Gornoman!! |

Re: trouble shooting lights
I know I do not have a horn. There was a stereo that is not hooked up and I have the lights. So The Green is powering the fuse panel. The Blue is for my lights, I assume either the orange or red is for the stereo? and the remaining cable would be for?

Re: trouble shooting lights
I got the six fuse block, but chose to stick with the old school cartridge fuses, in lieu of the blades. I have lotsa gadgets. You can probably find a cheaper one, but the one i bought was just down the road, so I could get to wiring it sooner that way. Four should be plenty for lights, horn, stereo, and something else.

Re: trouble shooting lights
Thanks Yurtle, We have a lot of weather here in the tropics and living by the ocean..it is either dusty or muddy and wet! So I would not mind spending a little extra for some quality.
Here is a link to another one I came across but i have no idea how good it is..says it has a clear cover. ps. Old school meaning the little glass cylinder with metal end types right? Should all of the fuses be 30a? |

Re: trouble shooting lights
Yeah, those are the types of fuses I used. Not implying one's any better than the other, I just already have a bunch of the old ones, so I stuck with that.
As to the rating, I'd stick with what the manual recommends. 30 sounds kinda big. I think all of mine are 15, but it depends on how big a load they have. If you have 55 watt headlights, and if the tail lights are bulbs (not LED), and on the same circuit, 10 amps is probably too small. |
