Yea, poping that black tray out can sometime be a hard task to pervent cracking. What i did to overcome this is, just ended up drilling holes in the back big enough to fit the bolt through, and a small socket.
Saves you from trying to remove the tray, breaking it, not being able to get another one, and not have a tray at all in the end.

Thanks to everyone here...got it out and well on the way to prepping for paint job now that before customizing the dash and putting on the new front cowl. Just ordered 5" lift kit (new wheels/tires will have to wait til after Christmas - but the ones on it are decent for the time being)...

Thank you.I did the same thing.I took a drill gun with about the size of the push pins and drilled them out and replaced with bolts.ty.
