Default Clutch spring Install questions

I'm sure this has been asked and answered several times, I tried searching the forum but I kept getting ezgo answers and different things... so I'll just ask and beg for your help!

I got two new performance clutch springs for my cart Saturday for my birthday. I'm going to be installing them next weekend.

Do i need to remove the clutch/clutches to do this?
Do i need that tool to do that or does someone have a "rigged" way... i read something about a 5/16 by 5 and 3/4's inch rod and a bolt, but it didn't say what size the bolt was or threads... things like that.

And finally, I'm going to have the body off to change it soon, do i need to do this all at once or can I do the body work and the clutches separately?

Default Re: Clutch spring Install questions

If the frame rail isn't in the way (but it probably is) you may be able to use a three-bolt puller to split the drive clutch (motor clutch) without removing it fully from the shaft. I don't know if I'd want to do it that way though, it might make reassembly somewhat difficult.

The driven clutch (rear clutch) I believe has to come off completely to change the spring. No special tools required to remove it though. It should just come right off once the center bolt is removed. If you want to know why I italicized the word "should", look here at my http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...nightmare.html
