Default steering sector

Need help----- can you rebuild a axel mounted steering sector on a 2005 ez go txt?????? I was told today NO .. Just don't seam right.

Sonny,

You can get a new bushing for the rack body at the output side of the rack. You can get a new rack, housing and seal kit, and boot. The only thing I haven't paid attention to is if you can get a new pinion.

If more than the out put bushing and boot are worn, you might be better off with a new rack.

Thanks for the reply. I have never torn one apart so I'm not sure how all the parts work. Ill know more tomorrow. those silly thing are expensive. Well the ones I've look at.

it is a very simple design.

yes you can get parts for them. I used to sell the housing all the time due to them breaking.

you can go to shopezgo.com and look for the pieces you need, but most of the time it is cheaper to get a whole new unit, unless you are mechanically inclined.

I just found one on e bay for 127.00 dollars. went ahead and bought it. I'm sure it's a knock off, but for that price, I'll try it.
