epsom salt test
Well since the batts are toast on the cart, thought I would go ahead and run an epsom salt test just to see what happens.... As everyone suspects, nothing. been doing this for 4 charge cycles so far and no noticable difference other than the first charge. These batts are basically gone so disregard how low the state is, just thought I would share with anyone that was thinking about doing this.
EZ-Go 36v Total Charge Charger Interstate Batts, 219AH and 5years old by the markings on the batts 1988 Marathon 3 wheel resistor cart: Mixed 8 ounces of Epsom Salt in 2 Quarts of warm water, till salt was completely dissolved, drained fluid levels to below the top of the plates in each of the 6v batts, and refilled them with the salt/distilled water solution. Initial SOC = 36.1v and took 2 hours to charge 1st charge cycle = 36.7v took 4 hours to charge 2nd charge cycle = 36.7v took 3.5 hours to charge 3rd charge cycle = 36.7v took 4 hours to charge 4th charge cycle = 36.6v took 3 hours to charge I'll keep going with this for a couple of weeks to see if some miracle happens but so far I think toasted batts are toasted batts... that's what you get when you put an elephant in a toaster cart. |

Re: epsom salt test
Another one .... Again? We need a separate section for battery miracle cures
Good luck with it, though. Remember one thing. Be sure to compare amp hours to amp hours when you are price shopping for new batteries. |

Re: epsom salt test
Next weak is our local rally so it will get run the snot out of. I'm gonna brutilize the batts over for days... run em till they wont run no more. Get it back to the house and then start on all the changes upgrades and rebuilds, when I'm done with em they may not even take them back as cores. hehehe
