Re: 2005 TXT Rear end?
Yeah my neighbor had a bad bearing on the input shaft of his TXT. He bought new for $250 out the door. Think I would follow his steps spend little more money and just bolted it in place and switched brakes over and done. To each there own I guess!!!

Re: 2005 TXT Rear end?
He bought a whole new rear-end for $250? I'd think shipping would be brutal but that's a pretty good deal. Then just the motor bearing is left.

Re: 2005 TXT Rear end?
Took the motor off and set it in the floor of the shop. Pressed the gas and it had a bad vibration. Output shaft was moving around a good bit. Would this be because the motor bearing has gone bad?

Re: 2005 TXT Rear end?
NO, because one end of the motor wasn't supported if you had removed it from the Diff. case and placed it on the floor.....as when you "PLUG IN" the motor into the Diff. case, that is where that end of the motor is supported.

Re: 2005 TXT Rear end?
You should only test a motor when it's connected to the rear-end, where its "second" bearing is. Running it like you did can damage it.

To do any motor testing, reattach the motor to the diff. Then put the cart on jack stands.

Re: 2005 TXT Rear end?
Use caution if running a cart on jack stands. No load can cause the motor to over rev and lead to failure. I personally would not do it to my cart.

Or apply some brakes, to add resistance.
