The link in post 2 was a total rebuild of the rear axle assembly. It did not do the minimum to install a set of gears. I did and followed up with results. The main point being the input shaft, which can sometimes be a pain to remove, can stay in if you are only installing different gears.

A stock pds cart with 6:1 gears and 18.5" tires will run 29 mph. Here's the link I created for another cart I acquired with 6:1 gears already in it.

yeah the input shaft can be a pain, but when your changing gears it good to remove the input shaft and check the bearings, they can make alot of noise when they are going bad, where's the pics of the gear change

Didn't take pictures as I did the change while rear was still in cart. We also have the best pictures available in earlier link (see post 2). I couldn't do better then those.

With all other gears out I can do a pretty good basic check of the input shaft bearing while it's still in axle housing.
