Default 36V using 6 car batteries

While working on my cart today I was pondering what would happen if I were to connect six 12V car batteries, three each in series and then those in parallel for 36V? I see a gentleman just left a message about which batteries to purchase for his newly acquired cart which made me realize I will one day be in this situation as well.

Has this configuration been done by anyone on the forum? Would there be any benefit to this? Would a stock EZGo charger charge these? There's a lot of maintaining involved with my Trojan batteries (watering, cleaning, etc..) and thought maintenance free car batteries would be nice. Any reason why maintenance free batteries would be a no no?

I literally live down the street from Crown Battery and can get new blemished (discoloration, decal misplacement, etc..) car batteries on the cheap.

Don't do it.
Cranking amp batteries and golf cart batteries are two different animals. Like sending a pig to do a wart hogs job

Ask your neighbor (Crown) about blemished deep cycle batteries.

Get Highest AH they have.

In the last couple weeks or so, some one posted about getting some high AH Crown seconds (or maybe it was US Battery) for a very reasonable price.
