Default Re: ITS

ITS stands for "Inductive Throttle System" and is in three parts.
The Sensor coil is located in a box under the floor board.
The plunger is also located in that box and is moved in and out of the sensor coil by a mechanical linkage connected to the throttle pedal.
The rest of it is inside the controller, so the voltage specs and test procedures are different for each different type controller.

The symptoms of a bad ITS can vary from erratic operation to the cart not moving at all, so there isn't a specific set of symptoms for a bad ITS.

On the other hand, when suspected of being the source of a problem, checking an ITS is fairly easy. However, you must know the make/model of the controller it is connected to.

The checkout procedure for the ITS in a 2006 PDS is in the service manual that can be downloaded from the Stickies.
