Re: 1988 Club Car (gas) Parts
When I got my cart, the motor was blown (that's why I got it). I tore into my engine twice trying to "rebuild" it. But both attempts were unsuccessful, not because of incorrect assembly but because I was trying to make one good motor from two bad ones. Both motors had thrown their rods, and as I found out, both cranks were egged-out and knocked after I mounted the new rod on them. Live & learn I guess. I ended up buying a running used motor fom someone locally. Those rebuild kits aren't cheap.
But if you do buy a rebuild kit, you should have much better luck. These engines are very simple machines. Here's the thread where I had the motor apart: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...oval-kf82.html And here's the thread for my cart in general, starting with the day I got it: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/membe...-club-car.html |

Re: 1988 Club Car (gas) Parts
So, with mild weather approaching, its time to get back on tgis beast. Another question. When installing headlights, where would i connect the hot wire to so that the lights only turn on when the key is in the on position? Im guessing the key is pretty much an on/off switch for the electric supply.

Yeah you could connect it that way. Is there a reason you need it wired like that? My lights are wired so that they come on, key or no key.
Here's the wiring diagram: |

+1 for 12v 30A relay and fuse panel!
Here's what I got: For wiring:
Now when you wire, just drop in the appropriate rated fuse, and wire up your lights, horn, etc. with 1/4" spade female terminals. Anyone, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong - going by memory and the IPL... |
