gas cap
Might seem like a silly question. but is this cap bad? Would it cause my fuel filter bowls to not fill up? I can drive it for a pretty good while then it just dies like it's starving for gas, but then fires right back up and goes a while longer. When I check after it dies, it seems my fuel filters aren't as full as they normally are. Replace the cap?

Re: gas cap
It would almost b impossible to tell from a picture. Try running with the cap loose a bit and see if that takes care of the problem.
I do know they made different caps for different years. The older caps were vented, as the tanks were not. Caps for newer tanks I do not think are. |

Re: gas cap
yeah I was just thinking it being cracked across the top on the outside wouldn't be good. I do think the older models are vented. I will try what you said tho, thanks!

Re: gas cap
Here is what one for your cart should look like
This is one for a newer cart, 91 plus add says, non vented However I have seen vents get plugged. Not sure what is up with yours top being cracked. The gas cap for a 84-91 cart is only $8 though When I mistakenly ran a solid cap on my cart for a bit, it actually pulled in the sides of the fuel tank, similar to those great newer gas cans when pouring. Your fuel pump may also be causing u problems. Check the pulse line. make sure it is tight to the fittings and that it is in a sorta straight run. It MIGHT be filling wiht crankcase oil and not letting the pulse reach the fuel pump? It also could just be a pump that is dirty or failing |
